The PocketWizard AC5 RF Shield Soft is a practical accessory designed to help reduce interference and improve the performance of your FlexTT5 or FlexTT6 Transceiver. Made from special RF-blocking material, it helps protect against radio noise produced by certain Canon Speedlites, including the 580EX II, 580EX, and 430EX.
Canon flashes such as the 600EX-RT generate relatively low electromagnetic interference and can typically be used with the FlexTT5 or FlexTT6 without additional shielding. The AC5 keeps all flash controls accessible and allows for a full range of flash positions, so you can continue working comfortably and efficiently.
Its lightweight, portable design makes it easy to store on the flash or roll up and pack in your camera bag. It is also suitable when using a high-power external battery pack. Please note that the AC5 is intended for use with receiver flashes only and is not meant for use with a built-in flash.
For horizontal mounting on a tripod or light stand, the AC5 is not the right choice. In those situations, the AC7 RF Hard Shield is recommended. The AC7 is also a great option when using an umbrella thanks to its centered umbrella mount.
