The Canon Speedlite EL-5 Flash

The Canon Speedlite EL-5 flash is a robust E-TTL and E-TTL II compatible flash, being praised for its power, connectivity, and dependability. The on-camera flash, equipped with a xenon flash tube, offers exceptional light exposure stability and a powerful guide number of 60 at ISO 100. The EL-5 flash's versatility is further highlighted by its flexible power control, allowing lighting adjustments from full 1/1 power to 1/1024 power.

The EL-5 Flash utilizes the LP-EL rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack to achieve shorter, approximately 0.1 to 1.2-seconds reload times and approximately 350 flashes per charge. In addition to its quick recharge time, the battery contributes to the flash's superior thermal management and active cooling system.
